Former Nickelodeon star Steve Burns has shared his reaction to the recent Quiet on Set documentary allegations.
Burns, 50, is best know for being the original host of Blue’s Clues from 1996 to 2002.
“I don’t have any particular insight into any of that,” the Nickelodeon star told Today, explaining that his show, which was on Nick Jr., was filmed in a different city.

“I’m coming to it much the same as anyone else, with horror and heartbreak,” he said.
“It’s just terrible to watch it unfold. I don’t know what else to say, other than that it’s heartbreaking.”
Burns told Today that for the Nickelodeon stars reliving their claimed on set experiences, “It’s got to be so unfathomably painful.”

“The fact that this is now what everyone’s talking about at the watercooler, it just breaks my heart,” the former Blue’s Clues star said.
Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV docuseries, which came out March 17, has starred some of the network’s former child actors.
The series has made claims of a toxic work environment amongst other allegations.
The Nickelodeon star’s heartfelt reaction comes just a few weeks after he posted an out of the blue cryptic video ‘checking in’ on fans.

“Hey I’m checking in. Tell me what’s going on,” he said to fans in the just under a minute TikTok video before being silent to seemingly appear like he was listening to his fans.
“OK. Alright, well, it’s good to hear from you. You look great,” he finished off the video.
In a candid interview with Variety in 2022, Burns revealed he left his hosting gig on Blue’s Clues after six years due to his declining mental health.
”I was struggling with severe clinical depression the whole time I was on that show,” he said.
“It was my job to be utterly and completely full of joy and wonder at all times, and that became impossible,” he added.

“I was always able to dig and find something that felt authentic to me that was good enough to be on the show, but after years and years of going to the well without replenishing it, there was a cost.”
In 2021, Burns made a surprise return in a video for the show’s 25th anniversary, during which he apologised for his sudden departure almost 20 years earlier.
“I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years, I never forgot you … ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends,” he said in the video.
