“Because I suffer with headaches, I recently had an MRI and just by chance they found something on my neck so I had to have another MRI,” she explained.

“It turned out to be a tumour, which is benign, it doesn’t need treating, it’s absolutely fine, but for that first week where the doctor had rang me to tell me the result of the MRI, I was on my own.”

“I was in the middle of cooking the boys’ dinner and he was like, ‘Oh, we’ve found a tumour. I don’t want to say what it is yet because I don’t know. I’m going to have to present it to a board of other specialists.'”

The singer said she immediately thought she was ”going to die” upon hearing the news.

“Instantly I just thought, ‘That’s it, this is my time. I’m gonna be sick or I’m…’ you know, I did go straight away to, ‘God I’m gonna die,’ and I had to kind of hold it together for the boys.”

“Luckily for me, the outcome was, ‘It’s just really rare, it’s really unfortunate, we’ve only come across it cause we were scanning me for the headaches and it will be something that we have to monitor.’

“But that week of not telling the kids, not really telling friends or anything like that, I think I just kind of breezed through the week, I didn’t really take anything in.”

It came after Bridge spoke about her mother’s battle with breast cancer.

Bridge has also spoken about living with polycystic ovary syndrome and struggling with her mental health in the past.

As reported by Hello! Magazine, during an Instagram Q&A, Bridge said: “I’ve been experiencing the same thing for quite a few months now. I got into bed at 7:30 and ate my dinner here. I have PCOS and depression which definitely plays a role. Stress is another.”

“Try to look at each day and see when the tiredness really ramps up. I’ve noticed that for me it’s possibly food-related. Sugar being the main cause,” she added.

According to the Better Health Channel, PCOS “is a complex hormonal condition” with symptoms including excessive hair, irregular periods and acne.

Bridge previously told Women’s Fitness that exercise has helped with her mental health.

‘’Exercise plays a vital role in boosting my physical and mental health,” she said.

“I can’t stress how massively important it is for me to do some type of activity as, not only does the sense of a routine – doing a class and so on – help me mentally, but the endorphins are also so important. Nothing beats that high you get from exercise.”

She added: ”Of course I still have bad days, but there are so many good ones, too, and that is what I enjoy about my Health & Happiness programme – it ticks so many boxes, making you feel good about yourself inside and out, whatever your age.”

Bridge was a member of S Club Juniors and The Saturdays.

She has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and the British version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
