Princess Catherine’s Kids Didn’t Visit Her In The Hospital – Here’s Why!

Princess Catherine’s kids didn’t visit her while she was in the hospital? Yes, but for good reason as it turns out!

Now that the Princess of Wales is on the mend from her scary “planned abdominal surgery,” we’re hearing more details about her lengthy hospital stay — which was apparently off limits to kids! On Wednesday, royal biographer Ingrid Seward revealed to People that Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, did not visit their mom at all during her 13-day stay at the London Clinic — unlike dad Prince William — because she was looking out for them:

“I don’t think [Princess Catherine] wanted to make more of a big thing of it than it already was.”

With how serious and scary the operation was said to be, we’re sure she didn’t want to freak out her little ones! And beyond that, the private medical facility generally does not allow children to visit at all — for the safety of patients and to limit the potential spread of infections, according to their website.

That must have been tough for the momma of three!

While there may not have been any in-person interactions, the 42-year-old kept in touch with her cubs via FaceTime… But now that she’s fortunately been discharged and is back at home, it sounds like the little royals are looking forward to spending time with her. Ingrid shared:

“They’ll be rallying ’round in their own way and helping to look after her.”

Aww!

On her return home earlier this week, Ingrid added:

“I’m sure she’s utterly exhausted, but she’ll recover well.”

Surely! Previously, we’d heard Princess Catherine is “making good progress,” and that Prince William is stepping up in the dad department as his bride continues to recover.

We’re glad the family of five is back together under the same roof!
