The Karate Kid was one of the biggest films in the ’80s, which sparked a fascination for many young viewers with martial arts back in the day.
Following bullied Kid Daniel LaRusso, the 1984 film help launched the careers of many of its stars.
The film soon sparked a franchise with various installments released shortly afterwards.
Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan, who starred in the 2010 remake, announced this week that a new Karate Kid film is in the works – and that they are looking for a new Karate Kid to star in the film.
”That’s right – the global search for the star of our new film starts right now. So let’s wax on, wax off, everybody,” Macchio says in a video shared with fans.
